About us
The Parent & Staff Association (PSA) of Simon Balle All Through School is a charity which through our fundraising brings together the students, parents, families and staff from Reception Class children all the way through to 6th Form young adults.
Our range of events brings the school community together as well forging positive links with the wider community in East Herts (and beyond).
We need your help please as we embark on a long term fund raising project to help build a new Hall for All.
In 2018/19 there were approximately 1,430 students. This will rise in 2021/22 when the Primary School intake is complete to nearly 1,600 students. The School and the community it serves, needs a new large indoor space to accommodate all these students and host non-school events.
Currently, the Secondary Main Hall is simply not large enough to hold school assemblies, PE, talks, drama productions, music and choir performances, exams, ‘out of school ’ activities such as Police Cadet training, Holiday Camps, Parents Evenings, and Information Talks to Parents without disrupting, curtailing (or even preventing) other educationally enriching activities taking place. When the Main Hall is being used for one purpose, both it and the open plan Dining Room are not readily available. This impacts on the use of both rooms as well as the students’ meal and break times.
Please support our fundraising by buying a lottery ticket, or five! so that we can contribute towards all that is involved with designing and building a new hall to be used by both the school and the community - A Hall for All. The aim is that students and staff will benefit from having more space, less disruption, and that after school hours, in the evenings, at weekends and during holidays the Hall For All can be used by local groups and individuals for meetings, physical activities, and even parties! The School is ideally located for community groups to use as it is within walking distance from residential areas but also has plenty of car parking spaces.
It is likely to cost approximately £100,000 and plans are still very much in their infancy. But we have to start somewhere! Why not be part of the project to literally build this community school hall? Who knows, in a few years you could be doing your pilates, voting and having your birthday parties here!
Thank you very much for your support and good luck with your numbers!
